What's New for 2025 Tax
One Big Beautiful Bill

Higher standard deduction: 15,750 for single filers, up from the $15,000 previously in place. Married couples filing jointly, it is increased to $31,500, up from $30,000. And for heads of households, their standard deduction will be $23,625, up from $22,500

Anyone 65 and older may now take an additional $6,000 deduction/ on top of your standard deduction or itemized deductions.

SALT has been increased from the $10,000 to $40,000 which is reported if you itemize Sales, Property and Mortgage Interest. Must have a 1098

Car loan interest deduction

If you bought a new vehicle (eg, a car, motorcycle or van) for personal use this year and you took out a loan, you may be allowed to deduct up to $10,000 in interest. But only if the production for your vehicle was done in the USA, A Year End Statement from your lender will be needed

Ending EV Credits on USA Vehicles purchased before September 2025

Tax on Tips up to $25,000 will not be Taxed - it must be reported on a W2 or 1099 (There will be income phaseouts)
